Houston’s Rice University already has one of the country’s top business schools, and a new facility could further enhance its lofty reputation. On Thursday, May 9, the school announced it had broken ground on a new, 112,000-square-foot building for the Jones Graduate School of Business.

A new tool developed by Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business measures the ROI of the top 30 MBA programs. Rice Business is ranked ninth with a salary to tuition ratio of 1.11.

“We believe that the recognition of online and campus MBAs as equal degrees will continue to increase, but that the ability for institutions to offer different modalities to different consumers will continue to be of utmost importance,” says George Andrews, associate dean of degree programs at Rice Business.
Rice Business professor of accounting Ben Lansford says graduating students who might have pursued accounting a decade ago are now going into investment banking, data analysis and consulting: “Those jobs pay more and also don’t require the fifth year of college education.”
Rice Business is in the top 10 in eight categories in the Princeton Review’s newly released specialty business school rankings for 2023. The latest accolades come on the heels of the school’s fourth straight No. 1 entrepreneurship ranking and second straight No. 4 online MBA ranking.
