What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
After working primarily with engineers in energy for the majority of my career, it was a shocking reminder that there is a multitude of different disciplines from different fields in the program that contribute different insights into a variety of topics. These different disciplines bring unique insights to in-class discussions that allows me to think about certain ideas differently.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
The people. I have made great connections thus far that I know will last a lifetime. Additionally, I have been able to delve into different industries that are different and have challenged me to delve into more entrepreneurial endeavors with motivation from the Liu Idea Lab.
What do you LOVE most about Houston?
The diversity in Houston is unrivaled. I can obtain a meal from almost every country in the world within a 30-mile radius of downtown. Additionally, Houston gives you a big city feel, without having the big city expenses, which equates to more of your income in your pockets.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student?
Although the program can be challenging, the reward (Rice Connections, opportunities, classes, classmates) far supersedes all the challenges you'll face.
