What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
Every single person I interact with at Rice is extremely friendly and helpful including the professors, academic advisors, administrative staff, career development office, second years, and even the class cohort. The individual attention and personalized support I received is truly unique.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
My personal favorite experiences so far were the Intensive Learning Experience (ILE) courses in Leadership and Negotiations. The practical nature of learning mimicking real-world experience over a condensed weekend with my classmates made it memorable. I also loved learning about the nuances in Business Communications taught by Prof. Janet Moore with practical takeaways important in professional settings.
What do you love most about Houston?
People in Houston are extremely friendly. Having lived in both the east and w est coasts of the United States, I particularly enjoy living in Houston, where you get greeted randomly on a walk. Not to mention, cheaper living expenses and variety of opportunities make it an overall attractive city to settle in.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student – one sentence?
The best way to leverage opportunities is to fearlessly engage with the community.
