What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
I think cultural shock. Typically in Nigeria, you are friends with people both in and out of class but I have come to understand that Americans are individualistic but will always help if you ask.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
The quality of learning. The free food on campus. Partios. The accessibility of professors. The access to companies and alumni. Rice has helped build my confidence and helped me to be bolder. I speak up more and share my ideas rather than hide them. I am less afraid, especially after passing the first semester exams.
What do you love most about Houston?
I LOVE the weather. The weather was a factor. I love the diversity in Houston. I love the diverse foods. I am a foodie. Cheaper cost of living. Friendly people.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student – one sentence?
Take the plunge. It will work out. You just have to put in the work and make good friends who will help you with accountability.
