What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
The close-knit community and team-oriented approach of my MBA program were truly surprising and have led to strong bonds and lasting connections with my peers, particularly my core team. The level of collaboration and camaraderie that I have experienced has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my MBA journey so far. Additionally, Rice University's inclusive environment made me feel at home, even though I am far from my own family. This was a pleasant surprise and added to the overall positive experience of my MBA program.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
The Thursday Partios have been a bright spot in my MBA experience. Each week, I eagerly await the chance to connect with my classmates and form lasting bonds. These gatherings have given me the opportunity to not only learn more about Houston and the US but also feel a sense of community and belonging. However, the highlight for me was the Pets Partio. During the demanding academic program, this event provided a much-needed emotional release and stress relief. The simple joy of cuddling with dogs and watching them walk around freely filled me with happiness and brought a smile to my face. It was a moment where I could forget about the pressures of my classes and just be present at the moment, surrounded by love and affection from these adorable fur babies.
What do you love most about Houston?
Houston's cultural diversity is one of its most attractive qualities to me. This diversity is especially evident in its food scene, which offers a wide range of international cuisines, including Mexican, Vietnamese, Indian, and more. This provides me with a dynamic dining experience where every dish has its own unique flavor and history. I love trying new cuisines; therefore, Houston is the perfect place for me to call home.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student – one sentence?
Leverage Rice alumni resources to build a strong professional network, which is the most valuable investment for a successful life.
