Kelly Rooney

As senior vice president, chief human resources officer and diversity and inclusion officer for WM, Kelly Rooney drives an innovative, people-first strategy aiming to make the company an employer of choice with nearly 50,000 employees. Reporting to the CEO, Ms. Rooney leads human capital, employee experience and operational effectiveness strategy focused on human-centered leadership, organizational health, talent development, and belonging. Ms. Rooney has held several roles at WM including vice president of HR, area general manager and area director of collection operations.

Before joining WM, Ms. Rooney spent over 25 years working in field operations and management in trucking and environmental services. Ms. Rooney holds a BA in psychology from Roanoke College, an MA in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University, and certificates in strategic planning, CHRO and HR management and analytics from Wharton School of Business.
