International opportunities for all MBA students are designed to broaden your global perspective and prepare you to change the world.
COVID-19 Update
The safety and well-being of the Rice Business community is our top priority. We are working closely with Rice University to actively monitor local and global health concerns as a result of COVID-19. Please note we have cancelled the travel component of global courses, which includes Global Field Experiences and Global Offsite Electives, through December 31, 2020 and subject to extension in the spring.
Getting outside of the box, moving to another country, seeing things from a different perspective, really helps you challenge your own internal assumptions and leave with a bigger, richer model.
Our immersive international learning experience, built into the core curriculum for all MBA programs, lets you take what you learn in the first year of the program and apply it to short-term projects for organizations and communities in diverse cultural settings. It will change your perception of the world and the way you do business in it.
Every year, our faculty members lead international trips abroad and host courses in those countries for credit. These optional courses give you the chance to gain exposure to different cultures, make business contacts, hear from dynamic speakers and network with local alumni.
Want to develop your international outlook even more? You can choose to study abroad for a term or a semester at one of our partner institutions in Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain or Germany. Or take advantage of the opportunity to attend seminars hosted by business schools around the world.
I met people on that global field elective trip to Uganda who have had a profound effect on me, and I'm so grateful for having had that opportunity.
