Yamil Kaba
Lecturer in Finance
Yamil Kaba is a Research Scholar at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. He received his B.B.A. in Information Systems with honors in 2000 and his Ph.D. in Finance in 2008 from the University of Puerto Rico. He has been a member of Rice Business since 2009. At Rice, Dr. Kaba has taught SAS Statistics Programming and has been offering research workshops for the Ph.D. program. Before coming to Rice, Dr. Kaba taught as an instructor, and subsequently as Assistant Professor, as part of the University of Puerto Rico’s College of Business Administration. He taught Introduction to Managerial Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Introduction to Information Systems. Dr. Kaba has also been a business consultant, particularly in the IT field, specializing in database management, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and reporting.
Dr. Kaba’s research interests include empirical asset pricing, financial market investment anomalies, and corporate event decisions. His research work has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Financial Economics.
