What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
I have truly been surprised by the amount of support I have received while at Rice. Whether from Rice faculty and staff to fellow students and alumni. The Rice network is spread far and wide, and I have not met anyone who was not willing to help along my journey.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
My favorite part of my Rice MBA experience has been my personal growth. Being surrounded by so many bright professors and students has helped me in many ways. One of the reasons I wanted to be involved with RBVA is to give back, as those ahead of me at Rice did for me, and I hope I can pay that forward for future students.
What do you LOVE most about Houston?
The people and the culture. Houston is quite unique in its diversity, and you can’t help but love the friendly Texas spirit.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student?
The transition out of the military can be a challenging prospect. Surround yourself with people you respect and have honest conversations about what you want your future to look like. Form your goals around these ideas and go make it happen. You have undoubtedly overcome daunting circumstances during your service, those experiences and subsequent skills will serve you well as you begin a new chapter.
