Tarik Umar

Tarik Umar is the Verne F. Simons Distinguished Assistant Professor at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. His current research examines topics in behavioral finance and financial regulation. Prior to joining the faculty at Rice, Tarik completed a Ph.D. in finance and MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard University. In-between college and his doctoral studies, Tarik completed a two year M&A investment banking program at Peter J. Solomon & Co. in New York City.
