Ionel Nechiti

Ionel Nechiti is the Investment Director for Aramco Ventures, a $7 billion fund that focuses on sustainability, technology, and energy transition. Nechiti, who is a Rice University MBA alumni based in Houston, concentrates on creating value through venture capital investing and portfolio management in downstream oil and gas, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water technologies in the Western Hemisphere by identifying and executing global sourcing opportunities.

With over 28 years of hands-on experience in the energy and technology sectors, including twelve years in venture capital and equity investing and eight years in roll-up acquisitions, Nechiti provides leadership in managing global business investment by driving innovation and sustainable growth. Throughout the years, he has gained experience in boosting shareholder value, securing P&L performance, directing corporate finance, transforming organizations, performing transactions, and chairing various boards of directors.

Nechiti holds degrees and certificates from Babes-Bolyai, Rice, Harvard, and Stanford University, specializing in accounting, technology, business administration, valuation analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity-venture capital.
