Eduardo Manzur
Managing Director, Energy Technology Sector Captain, Goldman Sachs
Eduardo joined Goldman Sachs (“GS”) Investment Banking in 2014 and is based in Houston, where he calls home the “energy capital of the world”.
Eduardo is the Energy Technology Sector Captain for GS, leading transactions that offer disruptive technologies with exponential growth trajectories based on the recent secular shift towards net zero emission targets. By keeping a holistic view on the energy industry, Eduardo has recently led M&A and capital market transactions for ChargePoint, Volta, Bird, Energy Vault, Clean Energy Fuels, Energy Recovery and Mercuria Capital; in addition to leading the largest ever renewable energy IPOs including Array and, subsequently, Shoals. These transactions have a tremendous impact on reducing global emissions by incentivizing the adoption of EVs, capturing methane emissions at dairy farms via anaerobic digesters, avoiding deforestation, mobile AI data centers, promoting energy storage and hydrogen utilization, and reducing the cost of renewable energy. As energy transition continues to drive a new industrial revolution, Eduardo believes new business models emerging from society’s behavioral shift to accommodate disruptive technologies will drastically change the way we lived the last century.
Prior to joining GS, Eduardo has always focused his career following his passion for energy and innovation. He worked as an Investment Banker at Deutsche Bank’s Power and Utilities Group, as a Project Manager at Kinder Morgan and in Commercial Development at General Electric. Eduardo earned a BS in Mechatronics Engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey, an MS in Engineering from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
