What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience?
The most surprising part of my Rice MBA is the value and importance of networking. I never knew how crucial this element would be in my personal and professional life. Rice's MBA experience delved deeper into the varied aspects of networking; now I can see the progression that helped me socialize and connect with people.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far?
My MBA experience has encouraged me to "be myself" in any personal or professional setting. My favorite thing about my experience so far is that this exposure has given me the confidence to be unapologetically myself and become a cultural add to every place I go. It has also given me a 360-degree understanding of various industries and the opportunity to meet new people and connect with them on different levels.
What do you love most about Houston?
I like three things about Houston: people, diversity, and food. That I am still not homesick is a testament to the fact that I have grown to love Houston, and it feels like home now.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student – one sentence?
We all start with a destination in our minds, but the real learning is in the journey towards our goal – keep pushing and never give up.
