Nancy Harris
General Manager Assurance and Functional Authority, Chevron
Nancy Harris leads the Assurance & Functional Authority group in Chevron’s Technical Center where she is responsible for subsurface assurance on Chevron’s major capital projects and for stewarding Chevron’s subsurface technical standards. In addition, she facilitates the sharing of best practices, the upstream portfolio analysis, and supports the interface between business units and the technical center subsurface portfolio. Nancy’s cultural experiences, having grown up in many countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, provide her a deep foundation from which to actively advocate for diversity and inclusion at Chevron where she led the Chevron Women’s Network from 2003-2004. Nancy joined Chevron in 1998 as a Geologist and has worked in appraisal, new field development and reservoir management in San Ramon, California, Houston, Texas, Covington, Louisiana and Lagos, Nigeria. Prior to her current role, she held multiple leadership roles in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico business unit.
Nancy received her bachelor’s degree in Geology from Rice University, and her doctoral degree in Geology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nancy currently lives in Houston with her young son with whom she enjoys visiting museums and parks and taking camping trips in their small camper van.
