Michael Short

Michael Short is a partner in the energy and natural resources practices with deep experience in oil and gas and power and renewables, based in Houston. An economist by training, he spent much of the past decade advising clients on how to navigate an energy market structure that has undergone seismic shifts on both the supply and demand sides. Michael has a particular interest in the disruptive impact of the energy transition across a range of industries and geographies. His work spans the energy value chain, with specialization in global energy markets, LNG, upstream oil and gas, and customer-backed strategy in both regulated and deregulated power markets. Recent client engagements have covered growth/portfolio strategy, business building, operational performance improvement, decarbonization, capital projects, customer experience, M&A, and operating model design. Michael graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in economics and finance, Phi Beta Kappa.
