What about the Rice MBA program has surprised you the most?
I expected my colleagues at the Rice MBA program to be smart and talented, but I was blown away by how supportive and warm they were. You don't necessarily think of an MBA program as a collegial space, but everyone at Rice Business buys into the theory that a rising tide lifts all boats. People genuinely want their classmates to succeed and will go out of their way to make it happen.

What has been your favorite moment of your Rice MBA experience so far?
I really enjoyed the Deloitte Case Competition! It's an intense three-day experience trying to solve a real-world problem, with very few guidelines or parameters. It's a great way to test your skills and get to know your classmates better!

What is your favorite thing about and/or favorite spot in Houston?
As a native Houstonian, I'm biased, but I love Houston's "come as you are" attitude. As a majority-minority city that disdains zoning laws and dress codes equally, Houston cares much less about what you look like or act like than what you can do.

In a sentence, what is the one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Don't cut yourself off from possibilities too soon; the class or information session you go to just for fun might be the start of a beautiful career!
