Favorite quote and why:
"Life isn't about how many times you fall, it's about how many times you get back up." Reaching a big goal requires perseverance and determination. Each setback is a learning experience, and the more you learn, the closer you get to success.
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor and why?
Tina Fey. She's smart, funny, confident, and not afraid to be herself! Oh wait, can we change "mentor" to "BFF"?
Best memory from your first year in the MBA program:
My team had just finished up one of our first case studies, and we decided to go to Valhalla to celebrate and bond as a team. One of our teammates mentioned that he had never been to a place like that before, and we asked him to clarify. It turns out that we took him to his first bar in the United States!
What story does your family always tell about you?
I have a scar on my wrist from breaking my arm when I was six. One day, my dad and I were watching a movie on the couch, and he pointed out that my scar could be turned at different angles to look like my initials, LMF. He was really, really proud of his discovery. To this day, he shows everyone we meet my "signature" scar.
What advice would you like to provide incoming students?
Make a point to socialize with your classmates outside of school. PCFs (post-class festivities), the MBA Gala, or even just a trip to Valhalla after a study session are great ways to meet all of the amazing people in your class. You make new friends, let off some steam, and who knows, you might just make a great contact for your next career move!
Any additional unique facts you would like to share:
When I'm not at work or in school (does such a thing exist??), I enjoy playing flute and piccolo in a local orchestra, going to the beach, and drinking wine while binge-watching tv shows with my friends.
