What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA? The fast-paced courses, especially finance and accounting. Students need to be well prepared and completely dedicated to these courses. I was surprised by how much material I didn't know about, especially finance. It was an eye-opener when learning about CAPM models and the optimal capital structure.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience? Being able to work in teams composed of diverse professions. I have enjoyed working with my classmates on several subjects (macroeconomics, finance, marketing). It has been an unforgettable experience.
What do you love most about Houston? The fact that it is the energy capital of the world brings great opportunities for professionals looking to evolve in the energy landscape (REFS, CERAWeek, career networking events).
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student? Start reading about accounting and finance.
