Jorge is Senior Vice President Digital Enterprise for GE Power Digital Technologies. GE Power is a world energy leader that provides technology, solutions and services across the entire energy value chain from the point of generation to consumption. GE Power is transforming the electricity industry by uniting all the resources and scale of the world’s first Digital Industrial company with customers operating in more than 150 countries, in which together power more than a third of the world to illuminate cities, build economies and connect the world.
In his role, Jorge oversees Enterprise Systems, Architecture and The Future of Work with a team of 800+ resources. He is driving the digital transformation journey for GE Power. He leads a multi-year cross-functional ERP program to transition the $35B business onto a single platform, which is the largest in GE and will host approximately 40% of overall GE’s revenue.
Jorge is also leading the next step for digital and business transformation. This will drive millions of dollars in business productivity and down-stream benefits by incorporating the next generation enterprise architecture, the latest innovations to introduce customer and supplier B2B platforms, an integrated business planning suite along with machine learning and robotic process automation.
Jorge joined GE in 1998 as Project Engineer with GE Mexico and held several roles in Latin America including eBusiness Leader. In 2003 he joined GE Transportation to lead Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Information Technology. In 2006 he was promoted to CIO, GE Energy Distributed Power and then in 2011 progressed to CIO, GE Oil & Gas Drilling and Surface business. He joined GE Power as Senior Vice President, Digital Enterprise in 2015.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, with minors in telecommunications and mathematics at the Institute of Technology in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Jorge is a graduate of the GE Experience Information Management Program (EIMP). He is an Executive Sponsor of GE’s Hispanic Forum and the GE University Executive for Rice University. He is a part of the Governing Body for Evanta, a Gartner Company and a former Board Member for Oil Field Services (0FS). Jorge and his wife have 3 children based out of Houston, Texas.
