Jesse Teichman
Venture Capital Investment Manager, Future Energy Fund, Chevron
Jesse began his career as an engineer in the ship propulsion industry, and later transitioned to power generation, where he led the commissioning of over 100 megawatts of reciprocating engine power projects globally. He then moved to a product manager role and an engine systems startup. Subsequently, he worked for consulting and investment firms focused on novel power technologies and market strategies. Building on his record of advancing power technology, he joined CTV in 2008, leading numerous projects ranging from renewables to conventional power and energy storage. Jesse then joined Chevron’s LNG commercialization team as a power market advisor before returning to CTV. In 2018, Jesse helped establish Chevron’s Future Energy Fund, where he currently focuses on venture investments in early-stage technology which will impact the future of energy consumption, distribution and storage. Jesse led or co-led investments for the Fund in Chargepoint, Natron Energy, Vutiliti and Zap Energy, on whose boards he serves as an observer, as well as in Infinitum Electric.
Jesse holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from UT-Austin, where he was a Venture Fellow. He is conversational in German and served 11 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, reaching the rank of lieutenant commander.
