Frank Liu
President, Lovett Commercial
Mr. Liu is the founder of Lovett Commercial, Lovett Homes, InTownHomes, and Lovett Industrial.
A Chinese American born in Taiwan, Mr. Liu also spent a large part of his upbringing in Vietnam. In pursuit of academic and economic opportunity, Mr. Liu emigrated to the U.S. in 1971 and arrived in Houston in 1973. After graduating from Rice University with a civil engineering degree, Mr. Liu established the first of his family of companies in 1980 when he and his college roommate started Lovett Homes, a premium urban residential company.
In 1995 Mr. Liu founded Lovett Commercial, specializing in commercial development and redevelopment. In 2003, further growth led to his development of InTownHomes, a design-driven and environmentally friendly residential development company working in emerging neighborhoods. Mr. Liu has worked with some of the world’s finest architects and designers, including OMA, Snohetta, and DPZ.
Through his various companies, Mr. Liu has developed several billion dollars of projects throughout Texas. His projects range from retail, office, and industrial, to adaptive reuse historic buildings and thousands of homes. Mr. Liu is also a proud and active supporter, underwriter and board advisory member for many arts, education, and community development organizations throughout the Houston area.
