Duncan Dickerson

Duncan Dickerson has served Rice University as an adjunct professor in the business school since 2020, teaching classes in renewable energy finance and climatetech.
Duncan is the senior vice president of Corporate Development at MARA, the world's largest bitcoin miner, where he leads mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic fundraising and other corporate initiatives. Previously, he held roles at major financial institutions, including Lazard, KKR and Morgan Stanley. He has worked on more than $20 billion in traditional and emerging energy transactions in M&A, activism defense, public and private capital markets, and restructurings, both in and out of court.
In philanthropy, Duncan was a premier member of the Houston chapter of the Rikers Debate Project, a nonprofit focused on teaching competitive debate to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people to give them a greater say in the decisions that affect their lives. He also served as a committee member for Hermann Park Conservancy's Play Your Park campaign, successfully raising $2 million dollars for the construction of the McWilliams Dog Park.
He is based in Dana Point, California, with his wife and two children, whom he loves very much.
