David Lacombe

David Lacombe is a Senior Project Engineer with Royal Dutch Shell where he supports the strategy development, portfolio shaping activities, and investment priorities for the deepwater business. He began his career in the oil field as an engineer, doing with the detailed design, development, and field execution work for offshore systems in the Gulf of Mexico and Nigeria. Upon graduating from the Jones school in 2009, he joined Hess as an internal Project Consultant to drive efficiency and savings in the E&P business. David subsequently re-joined the projects organization and later moved to Shell to do similar work in Brazil. He holds an engineering degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. While at Rice, he served in the Energy and Finance Clubs and remains active in the business school. In his free time, David is likely managing and coaching his 2 daughter’s soccer teams.
