Byron N. Cooper

Byron N. Cooper the President & COO at North Shore Steel, a privately-owned steel service center that supplies carbon steel products and value-added processing services to the oil and gas, chemical, commercial construction, heavy equipment, and general fabrication industries.  As an executive and leader at North Shore Steel, he formulates and executes corporate strategy, leads continuous improvement and growth initiatives, and develops and supports the company’s senior management team. 

Prior to joining North Shore Steel, Mr. Cooper practiced law as a mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance attorney at Akin, Gump, Straus, Hauer & Feld, LLP (Houston, TX) and the Securities & Exchange Commission (Washington, D.C.). 

Mr. Cooper graduated with an Executive MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business in 2016.  He was the recipient of the Jones Scholar Award and currently serves as Class Ambassador for the EMBA Class of 2016.  Mr. Cooper also has a law degree from the University of Houston, where he graduated Cum Laude and served on the Houston Law Review, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Millsaps College.   

Mr. Cooper and his wife, Cameron, have two daughters and one son and they live in Houston, Texas.
