Raina Avalon

Raina is responsible for the Inbound Logistics at Sysco, including the International trade and compliance. She is building a mentoring culture, focused on Leadership & Execution. Raina continues to build on strategy and process improvement within Logistics to support our Supply Chain initiatives. We are excited about supporting our Opco’s & Specialty companies regarding their Logistics service & profit. We do this by developing talent and driving results at Sysco!

Raina was formerly the Vice President of Transportation for Family Dollar Stores, Inc. where she oversaw the logistics & transportation area, both domestic & import segments of the business. She has more than 25 years of experience in retail transportation, and logistical operations. Prior to joining Family Dollar in 2006, she was employed by Dollar General Corporation as Sr. Director, Transportation Operations.

Ms. Avalon earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the California State University at Los Angeles. She is an active member of several professional associations, including the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, a member of NEW, the Network for Executive Women-Consumer Products & Retail Industry, and served on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts Hornet’s Nest Council in Charlotte, NC. Raina is also a member of Team Burundi, a non-profit group created after a trip to Africa in October 2008. This group is currently working with ALARM, African Leadership & Reconciliation Ministries in the countries of Rwanda & Burundi in an effort to improve tribal relations and impact these war torn nations.
