The Healthcare Program was created within Rice Business as a means to address the changing face of healthcare as a business. Focus is given on key topics driving the healthcare industry. Successful completion of the program helps prepare students for careers in hospitals, biotechnology, life science and managed care industries.

In the first year, students follow a required curriculum that involves analyzing multiple business cases. Students then begin tailoring their healthcare experience in the second semester of the first year and the entire second year. Some of the healthcare electives include but are not limited to: U.S. Healthcare Management, Healthcare Strategy and Healthcare Operations Management. Courses are continually being added to accommodate the changing healthcare industry.

Rice Business also hosts healthcare events such as a speaker series and panel discussions. At these events, Rice invites inspiring and accomplished leaders in today’s Houston healthcare community to share their expertise and experiences with others in the field. In addition, the school hosts annual panel discussions on topics critical to healthcare, helping MBA students explore the topics and problems in healthcare today.
