WE’RE KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE PARK!

Our Dean

Peter Rodriguez has been knocking it out of the park as dean of Rice Business since 2016. During that time, he has doubled MBA enrollment, grown the tenure-track faculty by more than 35%, introduced the first online graduate degree at Rice, launched the undergraduate business major, renovated McNair Hall and helped the Rice Business community survive Hurricane Harvey and grow stronger during COVID.

PUBLIC ART & RENOVATIONS

As our programs grow, so has the need to update McNair Hall and engage students and visitors in new ways. This includes renovations to spaces throughout the building and the introduction of a public permanent art collection. The 19 new pieces represent artists of different ages, countries, genders and backgrounds and intentionally make you think, engage and have an opinion, all of which are critical to our mission as a school. As we prepare the school for even more growth, expansion plans of 80,000 additional square feet are in the works to add classrooms, offices, centers and comfortable spaces to gather.

OUR NEW FACULTY

The Vanity Fair-inspired photo shoot of new faculty in Gibbs Gallery at McNair Hall included the senior leadership team — Peter Rodriguez, dean; Jing Zhou, deputy dean; and Barbara Ostdiek, senior associate dean. Not pictured; Amy Dittmar, provost and professor of economics and finance.
