Why Rice Business?
Firstly, I love the small and high-quality class size compared to other recognized programs. This provides the opportunity to connect with almost everyone (classmates and staff).
Secondly, diversity and inclusion are at the core of the program’s value and belief system which confirms the tagline of “You Belong Here" and helps promote these values. It feels good to be in a space where my voice can be heard.
Lastly, I have witnessed firsthand the tremendous academic and professional transformation a few students and alumni went through, so I want to experience that transformation as well.
What does The Consortium mean to you?
The Consortium provides the opportunity to connect with other like-minded diverse professionals. More importantly, provides me the avenue to connect with potential employers. It also provides me the opportunity to receive mentorship directly from senior business leaders within The Consortium community as well as the general diversity community within cooperate America.
What does a Consortium liaison do and what are you looking forward to most in this role?
A Consortium liaison is a link between the organization and students, both incoming and current students in the program. Also, the link between the school’s Consortium body and the general organization.
Within my role as an admissions liaison, I am looking forward to providing a soft landing for the incoming Consortium class of 2026. I intend to work together with admissions to ensure that the incoming students get integrated into the Rice Business community seamlessly.
What advice do you have for prospective MBA students?
Be prepared to take a lot in and handle the pressure. Do not be an island – try to connect with a lot of people as your bandwidth can cover to help you stay up to date with information you need to survive this journey. Be open-minded about your career and job pursuits.
