Social Opportunities
Social Opportunities
Incredible opportunities exist outside the classroom to build lasting bonds with classmates and contribute to the Houston community- all while having a blast!
Partios
Partio (party on the patio) is a fun and accessible chance to build relationships and celebrate friendships. Occurring most Thursday nights at McNair Hall, partio is a fixture of the Rice Business experience.
Rice Around the World Partio
Rice Business welcomes students from all over the world. We celebrate these cultures each spring during our Rice Around the World Partio. Every year students volunteer to host a table during partio and showcase food and activities from their home countries. You'll mingle with fellow students, faculty and staff while enjoying food and activities from all over the world.
Dean's Partio
Pursuing an MBA is a commitment. As the conclusion of each academic year, the Rice Business Dean's take the opportunity to celebrate each of you! Dean's Partio includes, food, activities and giveaways to commemorate the end of the year.
Gala
We all love a lavish formal event. Gala is an annual formal gathering held at incredible venues in Houston. In the springtime, put on your black tie or ball gown and join together to celebrate.
Service Learning
At Rice Business, we love to give back to our community. We feel an obligation to be our best selves and contribute to the success of the people and organizations that surround us.
Board Fellows
This special program pairs fellows with executive boards of many Houston non-profit organizations. The partnership enables fellows to make use of the curriculum and experiences to shape the non-profit's strategy. At the same time, fellows are afforded an exceptional opportunity to work with and learn from Houston business leaders, discovering and networking through service. Learn more
Rice Gives Back
Every semester, students plan, coordinate, and lead a day of service benefitting several charitable causes. Rice Gives Back includes service projects around the Houston area and afford participants an opportunity to volunteer and make an impact on the city of Houston. Every year Rice Business students give hundreds of hours of service during Rice Gives Back.
Student Leadership Opportunities
Our student clubs provide leadership development by offering a chance to hold executive board positions while learning more about different professions and improving business skills.
Student leaders regularly collaborate to organize conferences and case competitions such as the Women in Leadership Conference, Rice Veterans Business Battle and the Rice Energy Finance Summit. These attract hundreds of students, alumni and other professionals. Clubs also participate in industry treks (including Week on Wall Street, a Houston/Energy Trek, and a San Francisco/Tech Trek) to allow students to experience real-world business environments first hand.
