Hosted by the Rice Business Real Estate Initiative, the Career Development Office, and the MBA Real Estate Student Association, this event brings together industry leaders, alumni, and current students for an evening of connection and conversation.

The evening will begin with a brief update on the real estate curriculum and faculty at Rice Business from Jefferson Duarte, Gerald D. Hines Associate Professor of Real Estate Finance. Then, we’ll hear from our distinguished guest speaker, Chris Rector, Chief Operating Officer, Real Estate Americas at Hines, who will share insights on current U.S. market investment trends. The rest of the evening will be dedicated to networking, providing a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, Rice Business alumni, and current students.
About Our Guest Speaker
Chris Rector leads teams across real estate operations, new business development, and platform growth at Hines. His responsibilities span asset management, single-family lot development, self-storage, and industrial platform activities across North and Central America. Committed to community service, Chris has served as the Hines United Way of Greater Houston Campaign Chair and currently sits on the Rice Business Partners Board and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and holds an MBA from Rice Business, where he specialized in real estate.
