Valerie Walker
Lecturer in Operations Management
Valerie Walker is an Asset Manager for over 100 Gulf of Mexico platforms for Fieldwood Energy LLC. She was previously a commercial advisor for Anadarko and an engineer for BHP, and spent over fifteen years in the energy industry where she specialized in strategic planning, evaluation of competitive landscapes, leading acquisitions and divestitures, reorganizations, innovation initiatives, and ensuring asset performance. She worked various positions in the Gulf of Mexico, Mozambique LNG project and US onshore.
Valerie holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University as well as her Executive MBA from Rice University. Valerie’s engineering background was foundational for earning innovation awards, Young Engineer of the Year, and Texas A&M University’ s Young Alumni Spotlight. She also served as lecturer for international and local universities’ petroleum engineering departments, and was on the Board of Directors for the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Valerie also serves on the Women’s Global Leadership Conference in Energy Advisory Board and the Woodlands Art Council Board of Directors.
