Tim Kopra
Retired U.S. Army Colonel and NASA Astronaut

Tim Kopra, a native Texan, retired U.S. Army Colonel and NASA Astronaut, graduated from West Point in 1985 and was designated as an Army aviator in 1986. As an AH-64 Apache pilot, he served with the 101st Airborne Division and deployed with the 3rd Armored Division in support of Operations DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM. In 1996, upon graduation from U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, he served as an experimental test pilot and director for the Comanche helicopter program.
In 2000, he was selected for NASA's Astronaut program. Kopra completed his first space flight in 2009 with Expedition 20 serving as a Flight Engineer aboard the International Space Station (ISS). In 2016, Kopra returned to the ISS with Expedition 46 and was Commander of the ISS for Expedition 47.
With a Master in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech and MBA from Columbia University and London Business School, he is now a partner of Blue Bear Capital, where he oversees the operational performance of portfolio companies.
