What about the Rice MBA program has surprised you the most?
The closely knit community. It did not matter how much I heard about it during recruiting, experiencing it was surreal. Especially how everyone came together during the hurricane last year. Also, all the professors/courses have been remarkable.
What has been your favorite moment of your Rice MBA experience so far?
Alums have been fantastic. I remember while attending recruiting events and also during induction, it was oft repeated, the quick response time and availability of alums. Experiencing it first-hand was remarkable. I would send an email to a partner or CFO and get a warm reply, availability for a call or meeting at the shortest notice.
What is your favorite thing about and/or favorite spot in Houston?
This would be my couch, with my wife!
In a sentence, what is the one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Reach out to prospective students (possibly) alums to get a good sense of the culture. Culture is the most important thing about the business school application process.
