What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA? What’s surprised me most about my Rice MBA experience is just how much everyone genuinely wants to see each other succeed. From classmates helping with interview prep to alumni going out of their way to offer career advice, the support here is incredible. The classes have also been game-changers strategy and operations management sharpen how we think, while business communication, especially as an international student, has helped me build confidence in my professional presence. More than just academics, Rice has shown me that success isn’t just about individual growth, it’s about lifting each other up and moving forward together.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience? My favorite thing about my MBA experience so far has been the people, the friendships, the support, and the sense of community that makes every challenge feel manageable. Whether it’s late-night case discussions, celebrating each other’s wins, or just grabbing tacos after class, the connections I’ve built here are what make this journey special. The collaborative culture at Rice is incredible ,second-year students and alumni go out of their way to help with interview prep, offering mock sessions, feedback, and career advice that make a real difference. It’s not just about getting an MBA; it’s about growing together with a group of people who inspire, support, and push you to be your best.
What do you love most about Houston? What I love most about Houston is its sheer diversity, you meet people from all over the world, each bringing their own culture, traditions, and stories. The food scene is unreal; you can grab authentic Tex-Mex one day, Vietnamese pho the next, and still have a dozen more cuisines left to try. There’s always something happening, whether it’s a festival, a game, or a quick escape to Galveston’s beaches. But what truly makes Houston special is its welcoming vibe, no matter where you’re from, you’ll find a place to belong.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective? Be bold in your ambitions. Rice Business thrives on diverse perspectives, so own your story and make the most of every opportunity.
