What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA? The most surprising part of my Rice MBA experience has been the incredible support and collaboration within the community. Coming from a non-traditional background, I expected a highly competitive environment. Still, instead, I found a culture where peers genuinely uplift each other—whether in recruiting, academics, or personal growth. The openness of faculty, alumni, and classmates to share insights and help one another succeed has exceeded my expectations.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience? My favorite part of my MBA experience so far has been the incredible learning opportunities, especially understanding how big businesses operate. Dr. Balaji Koka’s class has been eye-opening, providing deep insights into business strategy, decision-making, and the complexities of large organizations. Every session challenges me to think critically and apply concepts in real-world scenarios, making the learning experience both engaging and impactful.
What do you love most about Houston? As an Indian student, what I love most about Houston is its incredible diversity and vibrant food scene. The city feels welcoming with its mix of cultures, and I’ve been able to find a strong Indian community that makes it feel like home. From excellent Indian restaurants and grocery stores to cultural festivals like Diwali and Durga Puja, Houston offers a perfect blend of tradition and modern city life. Plus, the warm weather reminds me of India, making the transition much more straightforward!
What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective? Believe in yourself—the right time and the proper try can open doors you never imagined!
