Rose Hochner Nelson

Rose Hochner Nelson is a senior executive in higher education and health care marketing, serving UTHealth Houston as senior vice president of marketing and communications and chief of staff to the president. She oversees marketing, branding, and internal and external communications while partnering with executive leadership to advance the university’s strategic direction. Rose has led UTHealth Houston’s first comprehensive marketing campaign, a major universitywide brand refresh and its inaugural national brand elevation campaign. Before joining UTHealth Houston, she gained early leadership experience in education and program management at Mission Mountain School in Montana and later worked in fundraising at the Alley Theatre and as an account executive at 20K Group. She holds an MBA from Rice University and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
