Raj Mahagaokar

Raj Mahagaokar oversees Grid United’s financial activities and helps drive strategy and commercialization for all of Grid United’s transmission development activities. Previously, he was a principal of Riverstone Holdings LLC, where he invested in and managed public and private portfolio companies in the decarbonization, power, and oil and gas sectors, serving on numerous boards. Prior to joining Riverstone, Raj was a co-founder and partner of Marka, LLC. Marka explored growth equity investment opportunities in East Africa. Earlier in his career, he was an investment professional at Silver Lake Kraftwerk providing growth equity to tech-enabled energy and resource companies. Raj began his career in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs in the natural resources group and later in the urban investment group, a principal investing strategy. He received his B.A. in mathematical economic analysis from Rice University.
