Mitra Murthy

Mitra Murthy is a Houston native with a lifelong passion for the arts. After studying art history at The George Washington University, she earned her master’s degree in art business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York, where she went on to spend six years at Christie’s, specializing in working with large estates and multi-category collections. In 2020, Mitra returned to Houston and launched an independent art advisory firm, working closely with collectors to build and manage their private collections. She later earned her MBA from Rice Business, where she was introduced to JPMorgan Private Bank. She brings a unique blend of art world insight and financial strategy to her role. Mitra lives in Montrose with her husband and their Keeshond, Chauncey. She serves on the boards of Art League Houston and the Houston Public Library Foundation.
