What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience? What surprised me most is how quickly I felt a sense of belonging. As someone balancing a demanding job, an immigrant family I support, and a packed schedule, I didn’t expect to find such a strong, uplifting community. From classmates offering help late at night to professors being genuinely invested in our success, the Rice MBA experience has been more than academic — it’s been deeply human. That support system has helped me grow both personally and professionally in ways I didn’t anticipate.
What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far? My favorite part has been the access to an incredible network and the opportunity to attend high-impact conferences. Engaging with inspiring leaders at events like the Women in Leadership Conference and connecting with peers and alumni across industries has expanded my perspective and opened doors I hadn’t even imagined. It’s been empowering to be part of a community that’s both ambitious and supportive.
What is one piece of advice you would share with prospective professional MBA students? Be bold, stay curious, and lean into the Rice community — say yes to the coffee chats, the tough questions and the growth moments, because this journey will shape you far beyond the classroom.
