What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience? The most surprising aspect of the Rice MBA has been the strength of its culture — how deeply the values of collaboration, curiosity and support are lived out by both faculty and students. I expected academic rigor, but I didn’t anticipate the level of accessibility from professors or the generosity of peers in sharing knowledge and experience even through an online format. 

What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far? The Rice Residential Intensive Learning Experience (ILE).

What is the most important piece of advice you would give to someone considering the online MBA@Rice program? Don't underestimate how connected an online program can feel, especially at Rice. Say yes to engagement opportunities, and get to know your classmates — you’ll be amazed how quickly it starts to feel like family. Rice’s culture thrives on collaboration and generosity, and the more you contribute, the more you’ll gain in return. Rice offers an incredible balance of flexibility and rigor, but the true differentiator is its people. Invest time in building relationships with your classmates and professors; the insights you’ll gain from their diverse experiences will shape your perspective as much as any course material.
