Adam Shettle

Adam is a full-time Rice MBA student with an expected graduation date of May 2026. He is serving as a 1st-year representative of the Rice Energy Finance Summer (REFS) and is a member of the Energy and Clean Tech Association, Finance Association and the Rice Business Golf Club.

In pursuing his MBA, Adam is looking to make a career transition into energy finance and is exploring internship opportunities at Oil & Gas and Power Generation companies. Prior to Rice, Adam spent most of his career in the property-casualty (re)insurance industry, working with insurance companies to optimize capital allocation and manage volatility. Most recently, he worked at MD Anderson expanding the quantitativecapabilities of the institution’s ERM program.

Outside of work and school, Adam enjoys playing tennis, golf and PC games. The odds are that he would do better if he spent less time tinkering with his equipment and more time working on his skills, but then there would be less to talk about.
