Hwayeon Myeong
Instructor in Management
Hwayeon Myeong is a fourth-year doctoral student working with Dr. Eden King. Her research examines self and identity processes, drawing on theories from industrial-organizational psychology, organizational behavior, human resource management, and social-personality psychology. She investigates how people make meaning of their social identities, such as being a student, an Asian person, a parent, or a refugee. Her work focuses on whether and how individuals' subjective interpretations of these identities can be reshaped to promote well-being and effective functioning across work, family, and educational contexts. Through this research, she aims to develop evidence-based, scalable interventions that create real-world impact.
