Rice University JFK 60th Anniversary of the Moon Speech
On September 12, 1962, President John F. Kennedy gave an historic speech at Rice Stadium publicly committing the nation to sending a human to the Moon and bringing them back safely. This set us on the road to becoming a space-faring species with almost all of our daily lives being impacted in some way or other by our presence in space. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this momentous occasion, Rice University, in partnership with NASA, is hosting a series of events starting on Saturday September 10.
We are asking for your help in creating a unique opportunity for our students, faculty, staff and the broader Rice Community.
