Tammi Wallace

With almost 20 years of involvement in the Houston LGBTQ community, Tammi has dedicated her professional and personal life to the fight for equality.  When she came out at age 25, a remark by a co-worker stuck with her…“You are going to be one of those people, marching in the parade, in the news…” and almost 10 years later she was. In 2011, Tammi was recognized as Female Grand Marshal by Pride Houston, an honor bestowed upon her by the local LGBTQ community for her years of service and grassroots work focused on LGBTQ equality.It was this passion for mission-driven work that led her to found EnFocus Strategies in 2012, which led to the launch of the EnFocus Group and a focus solely on LGBTQ inclusion work.  

In 2015, when working with a client that serves the LGBTQ community, she recognized that there was a tremendous gap in high-quality training and consulting to support companies wanting to invest in LGBTQ inclusion.  Tammi brings a unique lens to the work at the EnFocus Group with the intersection of her expertise in business, education, government and the nonprofit sector. Tammi’s areas of expertise include advocacy and community organizing, LGBTQ economic development, financial services, nonprofit management and policy and campaign management. She has led transformative projects such as one of the first public school district and charter school partnerships in the country, strategy development for a women’s healthcare cross-sector advocacy collaborative, and project management/stakeholder collaboration focused on an innovative community redevelopment model involving education, healthcare and housing.

Tammi is known throughout the Houston community and in the LGBTQ business sector nationally as a thought leader and innovator. This forward-thinking leadership is why the EnFocus Group was one of the first LGBTBE® certified businesses in the Houston region. Tammi co-founded and currently serves as the Board Chair for the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce, where she continues to champion economic opportunity for LGBTQ and allied businesses. She is also a founding member of the City of Houston’s Mayoral LGBTQ Advisory Board, past Chair and current board member of the Hollyfield Foundation and is a past member of the Victory Fund campaign board.  Tammi believes that the work at the EnFocus Group touches countless lives through engagement with organizations around LGBTQ inclusion and the opportunity to help create a path for LGBTQ employees to bring their full and authentic selves to the workplace and for allies to gain a deeper understanding of the LGBTQ community and the special role they serve in acceptance and understanding.
