Research Interest

My research looks at the gap between a rule and the person it's supposed to help — why that gap keeps entrepreneurs from equally capturing the capital and markets institutions are designed to allocate. To answer this question, I examine how institutions actually operate across the entrepreneurial landscape.

My research sits at the intersection of institutional theory, organizational theory, and entrepreneurship.
