Favorite quote and why:
“If opportunity does not knock, build a door” M. Berle. You will face a lot of personal and academic challenges during your time at Rice and some situations will really put your stress level on test. Do not underestimate yourself; don’t be afraid to ask for advice or help. You will have an opportunity to spend two years with incredibly brilliant, creative and fun people. And trust me at least some of them will know how to build a door.
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor and why?
Richards Branson. I admire how he transformed his passion into a very successful business empire. I also think he has an incredible sense of humor.
Best memory from your first year in the MBA program:
First strategy class. We were all silent for the first 30 minutes, and then the magic began. Learning from your classmates is one of the most interesting and fun experiences you will have at Rice (besides the happy hours at Valhalla :) .
What story does your family always tell about you?
My parents always tell everyone how I secretly applied and got admitted to the U.S. universities after I graduated from high school. I know that it was the hardest decision they have ever made when they let me leave home and move thousands of miles away. They respected my achievement and supported me 100%. I am forever grateful for everything they do for me and my brother (except their facebook passion – my mom likes everything that I post within the first 10 minutes :) .
What advice would you like to provide incoming students?
Do your readings before the class!
Any additional unique facts you would like to share:
I am a big fan of Texas Hold’em. I plan to participate in the World Series before 2020. Feel free to email, text, call, and I am willing to meet in person.
