Robert Schafer
Lecturer in Finance
Rob Schafer is a lecturer in finance with a focus on corporate treasury and capital markets. He has extensive experience in treasury management, capital markets, trading and market risk management. Previously, he served as the director of cash management & investments for United Airlines and was responsible for the global management of corporate cash, investments, foreign exchange, debt and banking.
Schafer has also held various trading, commercial, finance and risk management (covering market, credit and other financial risks) roles across multiple commodities and markets. He has worked with several energy and financial services companies, including NRG, Just Energy, NextEra Energy, BP, Direct Energy, BHP and Bank of America. He also served as an active duty captain in the U.S. Army.
Schafer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Rice University.
