Nancy Zakhour
Lecturer in Strategy

Nancy Zakhour is the Chief Commercial Officer at Clean Energy Services, a renewable energy firm focused on battery storage and solar sectors. She brings extensive expertise in strategy and business development within the energy industry.
Prior to this, Nancy worked as an Investment Banker at Piper Sandler, specializing in Energy & Power financial advisory and transactions. She was also active on the Women's Network and Multicultural Committees.
Before joining Piper Sandler, Nancy was the Business Development Manager at Oxy Low Carbon Ventures (OLCV/1PointFive), where she led financial modeling, commercial development, and negotiations for carbon capture and sequestration projects nationwide. She also served as Well Design Lead for Occidental's Permian Delaware division, managing a team of experts responsible for drilling, completion, and production design across over a million acres. Additionally, Nancy chaired the completion engineering sub-committee for the DOE-funded Hydraulic Fracturing Test Site II (HFTS-II), involving over 20 energy companies, and participated in the Women of Oxy (WON) steering committee.
Earlier in her career, Nancy worked as Completion Engineering Advisor at Callon Petroleum, overseeing completion activities and contracts as the company tripled in size. She also held various technical and field roles at Schlumberger in North America, India, Egypt, Malaysia, and Russia.
Nancy has received several recognitions, including the SPE Regional Completions Optimization and Technology Award and Hart's Energy 40 Under Forty Award. She is an active panelist and speaker at leadership events and has authored over a dozen technical publications.
In addition to her professional roles, Nancy is a Venture Partner at Ascent Energy Ventures, a Board Member of Nora’s Home, which supports transplant patients and their families in Houston, and a Corporate Fellow Lecturer at the University of Houston-Downtown, teaching MBA and leadership courses.
Outside of her career, Nancy is a published children's book author, sharing cultural stories to connect people, and an experienced emcee for corporate events and galas, raising funds for various causes.
Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, an MBA from Rice University, and is a certified Project Management Professional.
