What has been the most surprising part of your Rice MBA experience? I expected strong academics and career opportunities, but I didn’t expect how collaborative and genuinely supportive the environment would be. People here are accomplished, but also approachable and willing to help without hesitation.

Coming from more high-pressure, competitive environments, I thought it would feel more individualistic. Instead, it feels like everyone is pushing each other forward, and that has made the experience a lot more meaningful than I expected.

What has been your favorite thing about your MBA experience so far? There’s something powerful about being surrounded by classmates who are all pushing themselves, but still take the time to support each other. Whether it’s late nights working through a tough assignment, preparing for presentations, or just having honest conversations about careers and life, those moments have stood out the most.

It’s not just the classes, it’s the relationships and the sense that we’re all figuring this out together that has made the experience so meaningful.

What is one piece of advice you would share with a prospective student – one sentence? Be ready to be surprised by how much you grow, because you’ll see real changes in yourself along the way.
