Lou Fragoso

Lou Fragoso was appointed president of Texas Children’s Health plan in March 2017.  He joined Texas Children’s in February 2014 as vice president of Business Operations for Texas Children’s Pediatrics.  Prior to joining Texas Children’s, Lou was in leadership roles at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.  Lou is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of healthcare finance and management experience.

Since joining Texas Children’s, Lou spearheaded the creation of Texas Children’s Urgent Care.  Texas Children’s Urgent Care has increased access and convenience for families and established a model to help relieve the low-acuity overcrowding in Emergency Centers.

Lou is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a B.B.A. in Accounting.  He and his wife, Jill, have five children. Lou enjoys the outdoors, is an eight-time Ironman finisher, and three-time Boston Marathon finisher.
